NAME: CLEO (Cleopatra) BREED: Bouvier des Flandres GENDER: Female AGE: Born 12/14/24 WEIGHT: approx. 50 # COLOR: Black, natural ears, poorly docked tail BIO: Hi there, my name is Cleopatra, my friends call me Cleo. I was surrendered by my family because I was the last puppy in the litter and my bio Mother did not want me around any longer. My bio Mother and Dad are remaining with my former owner/breeder. When my bio Mother came into heat, she was so jealous of my bio Father’s interest in me that she decided she wanted to eliminate me. This was not beneficial to anyone so my owners decided to re-home me before anything terrible happened. I am a very nervous and skittish little girl, but the rescue thought I had great potential and decided to take me on. My Foster Mom worked her magic and within a couple of weeks had me kennel trained and walking on a leash. I am UTD on all my vaccinations and on heartworm preventative. A spay contract will have to be signed by my Forever Family since I am too young to be safely spayed. I will also have to be microchipped. I get along great with other dogs, not too sure about cats, though. I am currently being cared for in Imlay City, MI. You must have a completely fenced and secure yard in order to adopt me. **UPDATE: Cleo was officially adopted on 7/9/25, by a phenomenal woman in Milan, MI. This is the fifth rescue that she has adopted from Second Chance Bouvier Rescue. Cleo's new Mom has the patience of a saint and the stamina of a bull. Cleo not only has a new Forever Mom, but also has two Bouvier Brothers: Edgar and Ruff. Echo, her last Bouvier from us, went to the Rainbow Bridge at the ripe old age of 14½ years young. Cleo's new Forever Mom proudly calls herself one of our “repeat offenders”. Here is a picture of all four of them. Cleo is by her Forever Mom’s right hand. |

NAME: FAITH [remaned] MAZIE BREED: Labrador Retriever/Border Collie Mix GENDER: Female (spayed) AGE: Born 9/18/24 WEIGHT: 30# COLOR: Black w/ a bit of white on chest BIO: Faith and her sister Hope were rescued from an Animal Shelter in Michigan. They, along with their three other siblings, Mother, Father and another male dog were originally being investigated as an animal abuse situation. Before anything could be done, ironically the house they were living in caught on fire. Thankfully the first responders were able to save all of the dogs. We took these two girls in and a couple of other rescues took in the remaining dogs to rehome. Faith is crate trained and almost successfully house trained, but will require a little refresher course, once adopted. Faith gets along fabulously with children, adults, cats and other dogs. Isn’t she the picture of innocence? Because of the situation that she and her siblings were living in, they did not receive very much socializing. They were lucky if they were even being fed (which was usually by the neighbors). We know that her mother was a Silver Lab and her father was most likely a Border Collie. She has the softest coat, just like velvet. Faith loves to play with people and toys. Faith is a little more rambunctious than her sister, but is just starving for that one-on-one love and companionship that she so deserves. Faith is looking for a young family that can play with her and keep up with her activity level. Because of her age and size, we prefer she goes to a home without small children, she is still puppy-brained and still has needle teeth and can get the “zoomies” and accidently trip a child. Faith was too young to be heartworm tested. Faith is UTD on all vaccinations, and micro-chipped with a lifetime registration. So, if you are looking for that special bundle of fur to love and play with, Faith could be the answer. She wants to be your friend, partner in crime and loyal companion. You ABSOLUTELY MUST have a completely fenced and secure yard in order to be considered. Faith is currently being fostered in Imlay City, MI. to work. **UPDATE: Faith was adopted 3/23/25 by a very loving Gentleman in Westland, MI. Once acclimated, Faith will occasionally be accompanying her new Forever Dad. |

NAME: GOOSE (renamed) GUS BREED: Bouvier des Flandres (purebred) GENDER: Male (neutered) AGE: Born 11/28/23 WEIGHT: approx. 65# COLOR: Black and Fawn brindle, docked tail, natural ears BIO: Goose was lovingly surrendered to us because his owner felt that it was in his best interest. There was a divorce, new living arrangements and new work schedule as the deciding factors. Rather than crate him and/or board him for hours on end, the family decided they wanted him to be happy and be loved by a family that could appreciate what a great dog he is. Goose is crate trained as well as house trained. Goose gets along fabulously with children, adults and other dogs. (We do not know about cats). Isn’t he gorgeous??? Goose walks well on leash, does well on car rides, is very obedient and just LOVES to play with his toys. Goose is looking for a young family that can play with him and keep up with his activity level. Goose is not a couch potato, but does like laying around being petted and loved on. Goose is heart worm negative, UTD on all vaccinations, on heart worm preventative and micro-chipped with a lifetime registration. If you are looking for that special boy to love and play with, Goose is all of that, plus. He wants to be your friend, partner in crime and loyal companion. Goose is looking for that special someone that has previously been owned by a Bouvier. Someone that understands and that can appreciate and expand on his full potential. You ABSOLUTELY MUST have a completely fenced and secure yard in order to be considered. Because of his age and size, we prefer he goes to a home without small children. Goose is currently being fostered in Imlay City, MI. **UPDATE: Goose was adopted 2/8/25 by a phenomenal family in Barrington, IL. Goose not only has a new Forever Mom & Dad, he also has two other young adults and a small four legged companion named, Zeus, to share his love and kisses with. We couldn’t have found a more loving and knowledgeable family for Goose. I am sure he will think he died and went to doggie heaven. |

NAME: MANGO BREED: Boxer/Shepherd mix GENDER: Female (intact) AGE: Born 4/12/25 WEIGHT: 36# COLOR: Fawn, Black and White, natural ears and tail BIO: Hi there, please meet Mango, her foster Mom’s grandson lovingly named her Mango-Tango after some cartoon character ?. Mango was found tied to a pole, without shelter food or water, in an open field by a policeman that just happened to be driving by. He was kind enough to come back and get her and take her to the nearest animal shelter. Due to the overwhelming fact that all shelters and most rescues are beyond their capacity by the amount of puppies, dogs and cats being found and surrendered, our rescue stepped up and took her in. She was only about 5 weeks old when found, so we had her immediately tested for Parvo before we could put her up for adoption. We have an appointment with our vet on 8/15 to get Mango’s first series of shots administered. We did do a “snap” DNA test and it came back Boxer/Shepherd mix, five weeks old. Mango is just the cutest little thing. She loves everyone and everything. She loves to play with other dogs as well as cats and especially with people. Mango is a real social butterfly. She has great recall when you call her name, “Mango” or “Mango/Tango”. For being so young, she walks very well on leash. Mango is pretty much house-trained. Her Foster Mom has taught her how to use a “bell” to alert you that it’s time for her to go out to potty. Because Mango is so young, we would not recommend she be left alone with toddlers or young children. So, if you are looking for what appears to be the most loving little nugget of fur you have ever seen, please consider Mango. She is very smart and very eager to please and would make a fantastic addition to any loving family. Mango will be UTD on all age-appropriate vaccinations. She is too young to be heartworm tested, so that will have to be done in the spring. A spay contract will have to be signed by her “forever family”, since she is too young to be safely spayed at this time. Mango is currently being cared for in Imlay City, MI. You must have a completely fenced and secure yard in order to adopt her. . **UPDATE: Mango was adopted 9/13/25 by a very loving gentleman in Lowell, MI. This was a match made in heaven. It was love at first sight for both of them. Mango couldn’t have adopted a better Forever Dad. |

NAME: SEBASTIAN BREED: Doberman Pinscher GENDER: Male (neutered AGE: Born 8/7/19 WEIGHT: 105# COLOR: Fawn, docked and cropped BIO: Hello there, my name is Sebastian, you may remember me as Moto-Moto (adopted last February 2024). In 2024 I was surrendered due to the passing of my elderly Mom and the fact that my elderly Dad could no longer properly care for me. At that time I weighed over 123#. Due to the proper care and vetting done by the rescue, it was discovered that I had hypothyroidism, which is quite common in larger dogs. This is a very treatable and inexpensive disease to keep under control. I was then adopted by a very loving woman in Waterford, MI. My dreams had come through and I couldn’t have been happier. Very unexpectedly my new Forever Mom was taken to the hospital, where she passed away and I was once again without my Mom. My Mom’s best friend, and a woman that I also loved dearly was kind enough to take me home and get in touch with the rescue that I was adopted from. The rescue agreed to take me back and find me another loving home to call my own. Instead of relocating me back to the rescue facility, my Mom’s best friend asked if she could foster me until I was adopted. She loves me dearly and wished she could keep me, but she is unable to. She has two small dogs, which I get along great with HOWEVER she has a cat, which is a deal breaker. I do not get along with cats and because of my size, they do not get along with me either. Here is a little bit about me: I am not a “barker” but I do love to “talk” to get my point across. I am great with young adults, but due to my size – not toddlers. I really miss my Mom and didn’t have to share her with another dog, but am willing to try if you have another dog. After losing my Mom so suddenly, I am just looking for that one on one bond that I had grown to love and so desperately miss having. I am beautifully docked and cropped and very low maintenance. I am house trained, clean, kennel well and don’t mind having my nails clipped and walk fairly well on a leash. My caregiver, vet and everyone that has met me think I am a fantastic dog. I love, love, love snuggling. I do not have an aggressive bone in my body. I am perfectly happy just laying at your feet while you watch TV. The rescue is looking for a family that knows and/or has had Dobermans in the past. Dobermans are not for everyone. Some tend to think we are smarter than our owners ? So, if you are looking for a loving and devoted friend, I am sure I could be that guy. I am UTD on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, on preventative and micro-chipped. I am currently and lovingly being fostered in Waterford, MI. You MUST have a completely fenced and secure yard in order to adopt me. **UPDATE: Today, 8/23/25 is Sebastian's lucky day. He was officially adopted by his Foster Mom and late Mother's true/best friend in Waterford, MI. She couldn't bear the thought of saying goodbye to him or how traumatic it would be for Sebastian to have to go to another strange home again. He would have lost three women that he knew and loved in a year and a half's time. This is a great day for everyone involved. |
