PERSONALITY: Ammo is a beautiful Doberman puppy. He is about 14 weeks young. He was taken from his Mom at a very young age (only a couple of weeks old) because she bit his ear in half. Ammo wasimmediately taken to the vets and treated at that time. He was given up because of his mutilated ear. Ammo is a very bright puppy, very loving and trusting despite his horrendous beginning. AGE: 3-4 yro.
WEIGHT:
COLOR: Black, natural ears, docked tail.
RESCUED: 2/01/04 from Oklahoma CIty Animal Welfare.
PERSONALITY: Fabulous girl. House and crate trained. Very mellow personality (except when it comes to cats - which is the reason why she was surrendered to the shelter). Gets along great with adults, children and other dogs. She was a perfect lady on her long ride back from Oklahoma to Ohio. She even slept on the bed at the motel. Ashley is currently being fostered in Ohio. Completely fenced in and secure yard required. UTD on all vaccinations. Definitely not cat friendly.

RESCUED: 1/30/04 from Franklin County Animal Shelter in Ohio, picked up as a stray.
PERSONALITY: Bailey is a great dog who is very affectionate with people and children. There is a possibility that he may be good with cats. The foster home that he is in has a cat and so far Bailey just ignores it. Bailey enjoys chewing on his knuckle bone and playing with other dogs. He had a ball playing in the snow with the other dogs and a friends children. (As you can see from the photos). Bailey is UTD on vaccinations. Currently being fostered in Ohio. Completely fenced in and secure yard required. POSSIBLY cat friendly.

NAME: Barney
BREED: Bearded Collie/Bouvier Mix.
GENDER: Male (neutered)
AGE: 2 Years Young.
WEIGHT: 50#
COLOR: Fawn, gray & Black, natural ears and tail.
RESCUED: 4/23/04 from Midland Animal Control as a stray.
PERSONALITY: Barney was visited seven times by a guardian angel (Larry) who said that his experience with Barney was extremely rewarding. He was amazed by Barney's intelligence and confidence...calm, cool and unaffected by barking dogs, trucks, loud noises and dog pound activities. He is an escape artist that easily manipulates mechanical objects such as crate door locks, doors and door knobs. Barney handled well on a leash without pulling, which Larry found out because he went in and took him for walks. Barney was totally depressed and unresponsive at first, but after spending some time with him he was responsive and friendly, warm but not overly friendly. Larry had no problem grooming Barney, except Barney was not too keen on having his muzzle and face combed. Barney rides well in a car and gets along fine with other dogs and people. He is just gorgeous and very photogenic - he just reeks with personality. UTD on all vaccinations. Heartworm negative. Must have a completely fenced and secure yard. Not cat friendly.
**UPDATE: Adopted 6/5/04 by a very loving family in Gahanna, OH. Barney not only has a new senior Bouvier sister, but is also blessed with young "two legged" brother that he can grow up with, love and play with.

NAME: Baxter
BREED: Bouvier / Terrier mix.
GENDER: Male (neutered)
AGE: 8-9 months young.
WEIGHT: 53#
COLOR: Fawn, black & gray - natural ears and tail.
RESCUED: 3/3/04 from Sanilac County Animal Control.
PERSONALITY: Housetraining is questionable but being worked on. Baxter is very bubbly, needs work on his manners - still "puppy brained" but appears more than willing to learn. UTD on all vaccinations. Must have a completely fenced and secure yard. Currently being evaluated with cats.
**UPDATE: Baxter was adopted 6/27/04 by a wonderful family in Livonia, MI. Baxter not only has a new forever Mom & Dad but also a 10mo old Yellow Lab sister. Baxter is his new Dad's belated Fathers Day present.

NAME: Belle
BREED: Bouvier des Flandres
GENDER: Female (spayed)
AGE: Told between 6&8 - vet said probably closer to 10yro.
WEIGHT: 70#
COLOR: Black brindle, docked tail and cropped ears (see below)
SURRENDERED: By family in Wooster, OH because owner passed away.
PERSONALITY: Housetrained. Very mellow and laid back. Belle was originally found at a puppy mill, tied up and surrounded by her own dead puppies. She was taken in by a very loving woman that recently passed away due to a long illness. She has an immediate aversion to men, but will warm up to them eventually. Belle is a very shy girl (understandably) who was probably abused by a man prior to being saved. She has never been around children, so a home without small children or grandchildren would probably be best. She loves dogs and CATS. She lived with two cats and another dog, who she was unfortunately separated from after her owners death. She also lived harmoniously with a pet raccoon. She absolutely does not like plastic things and is afraid of thunderstorms. Although cropped, she has a "broken" right ear that no longer stands, and may be blind or going blind in her left eye (probably due to the abuse at the puppy mill). Belle needs a lot of tender, loving care to make up for the very bad times she had in her prior life, not the least of which has been the loss of of her beloved owner, but also the separation from her best canine companion of five years. Seeing as this is "adopt a senior month" - can't you possibly find it in your heart to love this darling lady that so desperately needs someone to mend her broken heart and dreams? UTD on all vaccinations. CAT FRIENDLY.
**UPDATE: Belle has been adopted by one of our favorite Guardian Angels in Mt. Clemens, MI. She already has two of our rescues, and just recently had to say goodby to a senior that she adopted from us. This very loving woman has a special place in her heart for the seniors and the ones that no one else seems interested in. She not only looks into their eyes, but also their hearts and souls and then opens her heart and home to them. Bless you Mary!!!

NAME: Benny
BREED: Bouvier or Giant Schnauzer/possible Lab mix.
GENDER: Male (neutered).
AGE: 8-10 Months Young.
WEIGHT: 39.2#
COLOR: Black, white chest blaze, natural ears and tail.
RESCUED: 10/7/04 from the Bloomington Animal Control in Bloomington, IN.
PERSONALITY: Housetrained. Wash & wear coat - no major grooming other than normal brushing. Very lovable, gets along well with other dogs and people in general. Benny was originally one of many puppies being sold out of a box in a department store parking lot. Someone contacted the Bloomington shelter and they sent a representative out and talked the owners into relinquishing the rest of the puppies to the shelter. Benny and his brother Kippy (see adopted 2004) were adopted to two different families through the shelter. Benny was found last month as a stray. They knew who he was by his tatoo when they neutered him. His owners never came to claim him. We contacted the shelter and made arrangements to pick Benny and his brother Kippy (who was surrendered) up and we had them transported to Dayton, OH. His brother Kippy was adopted while in Dayton, OH - and we made arrangements for Benny to be transferred from Dayton, OH to us in Michigan. UTD on vaccinations, heartworm negative. Not cat friendly. Must have a completely fenced and secure yard. **IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN POSSIBLY ADOPTING ANY OF OUR RESCUES - PLEASE DO NOT CALL - BUT GO TO OUR WEBSITE: www.seconddchancebouvrescue.com AND FILL OUT AN ON-LINE ADOPTION APPLICATION - THANK YOU**
**UPDATE:Benny was adopted 11/6/04 by a very loving family in Ypsilanti, MI. It was just too cute - the wife and son were leaving notes all over the house with Benny's picture on it. There was even a note written on the paper plate that the father received his sandwich on saying they wanted Benny. Little did they know, the father had contacted us on the side and already made arrangments to come out and see/adopt Benny. Saturday was the big day - they all thought Dad was coming home from work - little did they realize that Benny was riding "shot-gun". What I wouldn't give to have a picture of the surprised wife and son when Dad and Benny pulled up :-)
**RECENT UPDATE: Here is a recent picture of Benny with his "junior master" don't they make a loving couple?

**UPDATE: Bowzer was officially adopted 6/4/04 by a fantastic family in Dryden, MI.
**RECENT UPDATE: Received this picture along with a wonderful email letting us know that Bowzer (now Einstein) has accepted his adopted family very well. His slight build of only 85# (when we brought him home) is but a mere shadow to his NOW 130#. He has also gained a couple more inches in height. COLOR: Tricolor.
RESCUED: From Westland Humane Society.
PERSONALITY: Casey is a real "hunka, hunka, burning love". Well mannered, housetrained, gets along with other dogs, just adores people. We were notified by GPAAS (Grosse Pointe Animal Adoption Society) that Casey was running out of time because he tested heartworm positive and the other St. Bernard rescues either didn't have room or never returned the shelters calls. Fortunately we were able to "spring" Casey for GPAAS and deliver him to their vet to be treated for heartworm. Everyone at the shelter had fallen madly in love with Casey. When we walked into the shelter and told them we were there to get Casey they were all estatic. After everyone got to say their goodbyes - we took him with us. He is a VERY big boy and will make someone a VERY loving companion. UTD on all vaccinations. Both are very well behaved, housetrained, walk well on leash, ride well in car, exceptionally friendly. They get along fantastic with people and other dogs. Not cat friendly - will take one out in a heartbeat. UTD on all vaccinations. Must have completely fenced and secure yard.

NAME: Clyde
BREED: Australian Cattle Dog
GENDER: Male (neutered)
AGE: 7 Months
WEIGHT:
COLOR: Gray Merle.
RESCUED: In Wichita, KS
PERSONALITY: Clyde's young owner tragically passed away. The family couldn't bear to keep Clyde because he reminded them of the tragic and sudden loss of their son every time they looked at Clyde. We offered to bring him back to our rescue farm and hold him for another rescue to pick him up. But they never did. Clyde is deaf. He is housetrained, very lovable and obedient. Gets along well with everyone and everything. His loss of hearing does not deter him one bit.
**UPDATE: Clyde was adopted 9/16/04 by a very compassionate and loving family in Sterling Hts, MI. Clyde not only has a new family - that doesn't mind that he is deaf - but also has a "four legged" brother to learn from. (PICTURE TO FOLLOW)

NAME: Columbo

WEIGHT: #
COLOR: Gray Brindle, docked tail, natural ears.

One of our Guardian Angels in Ohio picked him up at the shelter and transported him to another one of our Guardian Angels in Dayton, OH. He was full of burrs and was a perfect angel being groomed. He was not micro chipped nor were there any ads in the newspaper looking for him. Someone loss is definitely going to be another persons gain. You couldn't ask for a better personality. UTD on vaccinations, heartworm negative. Must have a completely fenced and secure yard. Not cat friendly.
**UPDATE: Columbo's new Dad drove over from Ludington, MI on 12/15/04 to pick up his new boy. Columbo hopped up in his Dad's truck and off they went to their new home.

NAME: Elaina (real name Aliana)
BREED: Caucasian Ovcharka Mountain Dog (purebred)
GENDER: Female (spayed)
AGE: 2 yro.
WEIGHT: 122#
COLOR:
RESCUED: Is currently at the Cheboygan County Humane Society in Cheboygan, MI - we are making arrangements to either bring her into our rescue or try to adopt her from where she is at now.
PERSONALITY: We received an email from the Cheboygan County Humane Society asking for our assistance in finding a forever home for this very rare and gorgeous young girl. Even though we are Bouvier Rescue we have offered our assistance to help them whenever we could. Having never heard of this breed before, we contacted all the breeders and rescues that handle Mountain Dogs and they have chosen to either ignore our plea for help or have declined to help. Elaina's original owners paid $3,000 for her from a breeder in NV planning to make "their fortune" by breeding her. Instead, they lost interest in her and brought her to the shelter. She is such a big dog that people that have looked at her were frightened because of her size. Elaina is too big to be cooped up in a kennel. Unfortunately, the people lost interest quickly and kept her tied up behind their house. Then they thought she could be a watch dog, but found out that she "wasn't mean enough". She is not house-trained, but that should not present a problem. Even at 122# the vet said she is on the thin side and could stand to gain another 20# or so. She is up to date on all vaccinations (thanks to the people at CCHS :-) There was another dog in the family and they got along fine. We dont know how she would be around cats or small children due to her size. These pictures were taken of her playing in the snow. Elaina is very lovable, loves to play and just melts when shown any attention. Please help us to find Elaina some warm arms and loving hearts that she so desperately needs. Assuming not cat friendly. Large completely fenced in and secure yard required.
**UPDATE: Elaina (real name Aliana) was adopted by a family in Chegoygan, MI. The breeder was contacted and it was agreed that this would be best rather than to relocate her again.

NAME: Emma
BREED: Treeing Walker Hound
GENDER: Female (spayed)
AGE: Born 01/2002
WEIGHT:
COLOR: Tri-Color
RESCUED FROM:
PERSONALITY: Typical hound puppy. Is going to be big. When rescued along with her two sisters and one brother they were ALL hypothermic, had coccidiosis, malnurished and worms. Emma had to be put on IV's the first night - we almost lost her - but she is doing fantastic now. Both parents are UKC registered. Can only be adopted out as "house pets" NOT for hunting. Up to date on vaccinations.
**UPDATE: Darling Emma was adopted 10/23/04 by the same phenomenal family in Redford Twp, MI that adopted her brother Walker one week earlier. When they heard how distraught Emma was to lose her brother their hearts just broke for her. So they contacted us and asked if they could also adopt Emma and re-unite her with her brother. Such a joyful re-union and such a wonderful, loving and caring family that these two babies have found.
**MOST RECENT UPDATE: Poor Emma really has it rough in her new forever home :-) As you can tell, there is no lack of love in this fantastic family. I am sure Emma feels she has died and gone to heaven

RESCUED: 2/7/04 from Harbor Humane Society in West Olive, MI
PERSONALITY: Flanders is a wonderful loving girl. As you can tell, she was in desperate need of a bath and grooming. She is housetrained and just begging for love and attention. Flanders gets along great with adults and children but we would prefer she go to a home with no other animals. She is a definite Alpha when it comes to other dogs male or female, large or small. Flanders rides very well in a car and would follow you to the ends of the earth. Unfortunately when we rescued her, Flanders tested heartworm positive and we had her treated. She now has a clean bill of health from the vet and is available for adoption to the right family. UTD on all vaccinations. Must have a completely fenced and secure yard. Not cat friendly.

AGE: 1 1/2yro.
WEIGHT: 90#
COLOR: Black/gray brindle, natural ears, docked tail.
RESCUED: From Humane Society of Cadillac, MI as a stray. Adopted out once but returned because she wanted to dominate their other very easy going female Bouvier.
PERSONALITY: Jenna is affectionate, willing to please, intelligent and very active. She has a generally good disposition, loves people and is good with children. Very well behaved in the house. Jenna is very playful and loves her toys. Jenna would probably do best as an only dog or with a male dog because she does appear to want to dominate and be in control. Jenna is crate trained and will go in to sleep on her own. Housetrained. Walks fairly well on leash. Rides well in car. Because of her strong drive to please it is possible that she may enjoy agility. Completely fenced and secure yard required. UTD on all vaccinations. Not cat friendly.
**UPDATE: Jenna was adopted 2/17/04 by a wonderful, loving family from Bay City, MI.

This is not the best picture, we will udate it as soon as possible. Completely fenced and secured yard required. UTD on all vaccinations. Not cat friendly.
**UPDATE: 4/2/04 was the luckiest day of Noah's (formerly Justice) life. He was adopted by an absolutely phenomenal family that flew in from Iowa, rented a car and drove back to Iowa so that Noah could meet his new sister Zoe (another Portuguese Water Dog), as well as his new Grandmother. Noah's new parents are the answer to a rescues prayers - this is one time we would definitely vote to clone humans :-) What a remarkable difference between the "before" and "after" pictures.

COLOR: Gray brindle, docked & cropped
SURRENDERED: By elderly woman that due to physical limitations felt she could no longer adequately care for him.

NAME: Kramer II (renamed Kennedy)
BREED: Bouvier des Flandres
GENDER: Male (neutered)
AGE: 2 yro.
WEIGHT:
COLOR: Black brindle, docked tail, natural ears.
RESCUED:
PERSONALITY: Housetrained. Kramer is in desperate need of a home that will appreciate a dog of his size. His ideal weight for his size should be around 110#, as you can see he needs to gain a few pounds. Kramer needs an obedience class or two and a home that is large dog experienced as he is quite strong. Kramer does not get along with other pets, so he must be an only dog. Because of his size an ideal family would have to have no children under 10 years of age, as he could inadvertently injure them. He is very strong, so a physically fit, strong person would be his ideal match. He requires a family that would be consistent in obedience and familiar with an alpha type of dog. Kramer just loves to be in your presence and seems very eager to please. Potential adopters must be willing to travel to Dayton, OH to see/adopt Kramer. A completely fenced and secured yard is an absolute must. Not cat friendly. Up to date on all vaccinations.
**UPDATE: Kramer was adopted 9/18/04 by a very loving familyin Shelby Township, MI. We drove to Dayton, OH to pick Kramer up and bring him home. He was a fantastic traveling companion. His new Mom was so anxious to bring him home that she met us around midnight. She just couldn't bear the thought of spending one more night without her new baby.

A real heart-breaker of a personality, warms up immediately to any attention. Gets along well with people and other dogs. Very gentle taking food, not a grabber. Has a wash and wear coat - would be very easy to keep groomed. Would most likely get along very well with children. Not cat friendly. UTD on all vaccinations. Must have completely fenced and secure yard.
**UPDATE: Lance was adopted 3/6/04 along with Zoey by a very loving family in University City, MO & Deerfield, FL. NAME: Moose
BREED: Labrador Retriever.
GENDER: Male (neutered)
AGE: 5 Yro.
WEIGHT: 80#
COLOR: Black
RESCUED:
PERSONALITY: Completely housetrained. Healthy, LOVES to play ball and with the water hose. He desperately needs someone to play ball with him. He has been with his foster Mom for a total of eight weeks. He is very smart and will take right over if allowed. This does not mean that he is hard to handle, he walks very close to you and is very interested in everything you do. Moose has been temperment tested and has shown no signs of aggression. He has been submissive and once shown what you want and you re-enforce it he is fine. It is felt that he would be best suited with a family or couple whose children are 10+ years old and that is going to take an interest in training him to fit their lifestyle and to mind his manners. His "dream home" would be as an only dog. He could go with a multi dog home, but he really would like all the attention and maytend to push a more submissive dog aside. He is currently being fostered at a daycare and foster home along with 17 other dogs that are all loose and together without any problems. UTD on vaccinations and heartworm negative. Must have a completely fenced and secure yard.
**UPDATE:Moose was adopted by a very loving family in Wixom, MI

Poor Shadow spent the last four years outside in a pen, but please don't let that deter you, as he is now reformed. After a good grooming and some TLC, Shadow is now housebroken to use a doggy door and knows some basic commands. Shadow does not like cats and would not do well in a household with small children or small dogs as he has a high prey drive. However, he does get along with his six foster Bouvier brothers and sisters and roams freely in the house without any problem He is also crate trained and likes to play with his toys. Shadow has an ear infection in the ear that does not stand up and this may continue to be a problem in the future. He may also have some minor allergies. Shadow is an affectionate boy and loves to be petted. He will lay his head in your lap and put a paw across your legs to show you his appreciation at finally receiving some long-awaited attention. Potential adopters MUST have a completely fenced in and secure yard and must be willing to travel to Dayton, OH to adopt him. UTD on all vaccinations. Definitely not cat friendly.

NAME: Sterling
BREED: Miniature Schnauzer (purebred)
GENDER: Male (neutered)
AGE: 4-5 yro.
WEIGHT: 20#+
COLOR:
SURRENDERED: Originally surrendered to us by an elderly woman that had adopted him from a shelter, but was unable to care for him.
PERSONALITY: Housetrained. Gets along well with older children and adults. Should be an only dog or must go to a home with a dog he will accept. Does not do well on leash - he thinks he is a Great Dane and wants to "threaten" other dogs while walking. Sterling has a typical Schnauzer personality and temperment. He is very bubbly and full of life. Sterling must go to a family that has experience with caring for Schnauzers. He does not like to be left alone and unless crated when alone will typically get into things to "punish" you for leaving him. Sterling is a real cutie pie and has so much love to offer. Completely fenced and secure yard required. UTD on all vaccinations. Not cat friendly.
**UPDATE: Sterling was adopted 12/4/04 by a very loving and Schnauzer saavy family in Brighton, MI. Sterling not only has a new loving forever home, but also has an 11yro Miniature Schnauzer named Jake as a companion.
**MOST RECENT UPDATE: Here are pictures of Sterling with his new forever Mom and his brother Jake on his "first" Christmas with his new forever family. His Mom is very delighted that he is learning a lot of new words and loves to play tug of war with her old scarf. Mr. Sterling and Jake have become "best buds" and has proven to be a great addition to the entire family.

NAME: Sydney
BREED: Bouvier des Flandres
GENDER: Male (neutered)
AGE: 1 yro.
WEIGHT: 80#
COLOR: Gray brindle, natural ears and tail.
RESCUED: 1/30/04 from Franklin County Animal Shelter in Ohio picked up as a stray.
PERSONALITY: When Sydney arrived at the shelter he was so severely matted that he had to be completely shaved down. (Before and after pictures) He may have lost his fur, but not his sense of humor or personality. He is just so full of himself and glad to be alive. Sydney is good with people, a little shy around other dogs but that should change now that he is out of a shelter situation. Because of Sydney's size we do not recommend him for a family with small children. He is exceptionally long-legged and still very puppy-brained. Sydney is housetrained and crate trained. Appears to be intelligent enough to train easily. He is a real lover-boy. Sidney is currently being fostered in Ohio. Completely fenced in and secure yard required. UTD on all vaccinations. Not cat friendly.

NAME: Toto
BREED: Cairn Terrier
GENDER: Male (neutered)
AGE: 7 yro.
WEIGHT: 18#
COLOR: Black & Brown.
RESCUED:
PERSONALITY: Housetrained, obedient, an all around snuggle bunny. Toto was originally thought to be a Scottie until Scottie Rescue went to the shelter and found out differently. They went ahead and saved him anyways. For as small as this guy is, he sure does have a big heart. He is just so adorable and has a wonderful personality. He is pretty laid back and not at all aggressive, and absolutely loves his other playmates. Toto listens well and loves treats. Toto just loves to be held and cuddled and would be fantastic for any person or family. He would love to have some kids, I am sure, because he loves a lot of attention and has a lot of love to give. He is a definite cutie. Doesn't the full face shot just melt your heart? Must have a completely fenced and secure yard. UTD on all vaccinations, heartworm negative. Probably cat friendly.
**UPDATE:Toto was adopted 12/18/04 by an absolutely wonderful woman from Saline, MI. It was love at first sight for both of them. When we called to make sure they made it home ok Toto had already found himself a great spot on the sofa.

NAME: Ulysses
BREED: Poodle mix.
GENDER: Male (neutered)
AGE: 12-15 months young (?)
WEIGHT: 48#
COLOR: Black, natural ears & tail.
RESCUED: From Detroit Animal Control.
PERSONALITY: Ulysses is a real character, and is a very special little guy. Due to the unknown amount of abuse that he has suffered in his life, he is very hand-shy. He will require a very special and loving family to let him know that he is not going to be hurt anymore. It took us quite a while, but once we earned his trust he has come out of his shell with us. Ulysses had quite a few people interested in him - but when they came out to see him he just wanted to hide behind his caregiver. With a lot of love, time and attention, we have discovered that he loves to play ball. It may take up to six months for this special guy to let you earn his trust - but it will be well worth it in the end. We were originally going to just keep him because we didn't think that he would ever trust anyone again, and didn't feel he could go through the trauma of rejection again, but have found out differently. So, if you are that special person that has the time and commitment to give to Ulysses to prove that he can trust again and not be afraid of being hurt - please do consider him. He is housetrained and will make a fantastic companion and loving pet if only given the opportunity. Completely fenced and secured yard required. UTD on all vaccination. Not cat friendly.
**UPDATE: Ulysses wass adopted 8/7/04 ba a very caring and loving family from St. Catharines, Ontario. She was originally was coming to adopt Bernice but fell in love with Ulysses when she saw him. He not only got a new forever family, but also has a 4yro male Bouvier as a companion.

NAME: Walker
BREED: Treeing Walker Hound
GENDER: Male (neutered)
AGE: Born 01/2002
WEIGHT: 50#+
COLOR: Tri-Color
SURRENDERED: (See below)
PERSONALITY: Housetrained. Fantastic with children and other dogs. Walker is so loving and loyal and a joy to be around. When he was originally rescued by us along with his three sisters they were ALL hypothermic, had coccidiosis, malnurished and worms. His sister, Emma, had to be put on IV's the first night - we almost lost her - but she is doing fantastic now, as are the other girls. Both parents are UKC registered. Can only be adopted out as a "house pet" NOT for hunting. He is such a love that we were originally going to keep him ourselves – but after careful consideration we decided that he needed a family to call his own. Walker was adopted by very loving family in Warren, MI that have a special needs child and Walker and the little boy were inseperable. Here are two pictures of Walker with his two former "junior" masters. Pictures like this are priceless and makes everything we do WELL worth it. Walker was "debarked" last year by his former owners because the neighbor complained. Regretfully, Walker came back to us on 6/19/04, not because he was a bad boy, but there were some family problems and it was felt that his return would be in everyone’s best interest. Cat friendly. Completely fenced and secure yard required. UTD on all vaccinations
**UPDATE: Walker was adopted 10/13/04 by an absolutely phenomenal family in Redford Twp, MI. Here is a picture of Walker with his two "junior masters". Walker also has a senior sister (14yro Lab mix) by the name of Little Bit. We were so impressed by Walker's new family. He now has a forever home and family that he rightly deserves. Walker seemed to fit like a glove and was just so excited exploring his new home and meeting his new family. Walker has faced every imaginable obstacle, but they all proved to be stepping stones to his new forever home.
**MOST RECENT UPDATE: Where there is a will there is a way :-) As you can see, Walker is one smart cookie. His owners just "thought" they would barricade the chair so that he couldn't get into it.

NAME: Wolfie
BREED: German Shepherd/Norwegian Elkhound mix?
GENDER: Male (neutered)
AGE: 4-5yro.
WEIGHT: Approx. 40#
COLOR: Tri-color, natural ears and tail
SURRENDERED: Due to the demise of the owner, none of the family members wanted him so we went and picked him up.
PERSONALITY: Housetrained. Fantstic with children, other dogs and people. If Wolfie were human he would be a comedian or a clown. He is just so full of himself and wants to please. Wolfie has a gorgeous coat and beautiful face. Must have completely fenced in yard. UTD on all vaccinations. Not cat friendly.
**UPDATE:Wolfie has been made a permanent resident of the rescue. When we got Wolfie in (his owner passed away) we also got his side kick, Larry, who is old, deaf and almost blind. We knew there would never be a forever home for Larry and originally we were going to adopt Wolfie out, but realized that Larry would not survive without him. So we have decided to keep them both for as long as we are blessed with their company.

NAME: Zoey
BREED: Bouvier des Flandres
GENDER: Female (spayed)
AGE: 12-15 Months Young?
WEIGHT: 55#
COLOR: Black & gray w/light brown socks to his knees, docked tail & natural ears.
SURRENDERED: To the Macomb County Animal Shelter because the former owner couldn't give him enough attention or time. Zoey was adopted by a nice woman that wanted a companion for her St. Bernard. Zoey was terrified of the St Bernard (probably the difference in size) and she called us to see if we could find him a loving home.
PERSONALITY: Zoey is housetrained, gets along fantastic with children as well as adults. Does get along with some dogs but is definitely afraid of large dogs. Would probably do well as an only dog. Zoey will make a fantastic companion and loving pet. Completely fenced and secured yard required. UTD on all vaccinations. Not cat friendly.
**UPDATE: Zoey was adopted 3/6/04 along with Lance by a very loving family in University City, MO & Deerfield, FL. The reason being is that Lance & Zoey's new parents have a home in both states and they will be traveling back and forth but mainly residing in Missouri. They will never be alone again. They not only have a very loving Forever Mom & Dad, but also a Forever Bouvier brother.
